AIChE Membership
Joining AIChE is easy and comes with lots of benefits. Generally people join at the beginning of the school year, but membership is open any time. Just ask an executive board member, and they will be happy to point you in the right direction. By choosing to sign up for local membership, you will get national membership for free.
Benefits of local membership include monthly meetings with free food and access to all the AIChE events. National membership affords even more benefits, detailed at the AIChE national web site.
Member benefits
Our chapter hosts monthly meetings (with food), which address topics such as graduate schools, jobs, interviewing skills, the senior thesis, and leadership. We organize visits to chemical plants to expose students to chemical engineering in practice. Our chapter also hosts social events such as dinner and bar nights and a semi-formal dance. Local membership is $10.
There are several benefits of being in the national AIChE organization. These benefits include chances to network with chemical engineers nationwide; discounts on chemical engineering conference; a subscription to Chemical Engineering Progress, which details developments in chemical engineering; career and employment services; and personal financial benefits such as insurance coverage and discounts on auto rentals. Membership can be continued after graduation for help in starting a career.
