Last month, UVA AICHE held the annual Spring General Body Meeting. The Spring 2017 Halsey Professor, Catherine Hunt, spoke about her industry experience at Rohm and Haas, now Dow Chemical. Specifically, she touched on the “Coolest Block” project she led in Philadelphia, where she educated home owners and businesses about reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission.

Upcoming events were also discussed. Alumni and Corporate Relations committee announced that there would be plant tours at Axalta and Starr Hill later in the spring. Chemical engineering honor fraternity, OXE, announced that the student tutoring program would resume for spring semester chemical engineering courses. Other events to look forward to are the AICHE Mid-Atlantic Conference, stress management workshop, and ChemE Semi! More updates to come!
