The AIChE at UVA hosted a Skype talk with UVA alumna Anne Kopf-SIll about her experiences in the biotech industry. She provided insight on the rapidly growing field of microfluidic chips and her involvement in biotech start-ups. She also spoke about the value of her chemical engineering degree and background. It was an excellence chance for students to learn about some of the developing fields in chemical engineering and the valuable skills students develop as chemical engineers!

The AIChE at UVA also attended the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Student Regional Conference at the University of Maryland, College Park. This was a good opportunity to network with other chapters in the area and develop professional skills through the various workshops. Congratulations to the Chem-E Car team (Chris Fu, Richard Garrett, Khanh Nguyen, Andy Tsai, Will Martin, Sarah Rogers, Greta Hucek, Chanlee Luu, and Kayla Mantis), poster competitor Joe Pearring, and paper competitor Alex Yang (3rd place).
