Professors Fernandez and
Ford are involved in the
Biophysics Program, an interdisciplinary degree program with
over forty faculty members from the Medical School, Biomedical and Chemical Engineering,
and the College of Arts and Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
Biophysics research applies physical and chemical principles
to the behavior of biological systems ranging from the sub-cellular level to entire living organisms.
Students can enroll directly in the biophysics program to obtain a Ph.D. in biophysics or enroll as
Ph.D. candidates in Chemical Engineering while doing research on biophysics-related projects.
